Unit 2 Activity2

a) What would you assess? What linguistic and non-linguistic factors would you assess?

According to my general objectives linguistically
I would assess in:
  • Reading: That my students read for main ideas.
  • Listening: That they listen for specific details.
  • Writing: That they consolidate structures and vocabulary introduced in lessons, and that the differentiate between two parts of speech (adjectives & adverbs).
  • Speaking: That they practice the present simple, and turn taking in a communicative context
Non-linguistically I would assess:
  • Checklist: This involves that the Ss assist on time, and participate often delivering accurate answers.
  • Attitude: Students interest in class, and towards their classmates and teacher, also if they are capable of working in teams with a positive attitude.
b) What would be assessed informally?
Like I already mentioned it is important to see the attitude towards students learning, and obviously their own learning. Also the students that are always on time and participate more often, demonstrates those students own will to acquire the language. For those type of students, their learning process will be easier.

c) What would be assessed formally (Through tests)?
The students knowledge on a given domain, for example according to my unit it would be mostly an exam on adverbs, adjectives and the present simple. I like to do oral exams also because it's a better way to expose on them on the language than on paper, because they're really practicing it.
