Reflection of unit 2
Informal assessment reflection
Is the form that teachers collect students’ performance in class and it is not by applying a test as in “formal assessment”.
It is one of the most important ways a teacher can meassure student’s developments inside the class. A key in this topic is observation, why observation? : Becuase “informal assessment” it is not a test; it has his basis true out observation of students behaivior, participation, class-work, homework, and linguitic factors. The most important is to measure the four basic skills: speaking, listening, writing and reading; and it could be true bands that teacher uses to helpthem archieve their own criteria. Also it could be measure by charts in which teachers’ grade students according to their behavior and participation.
In this unit I understand and learned the two ways and forms of assessment: informal and formal, which depends on a test and without it respectively. All of these assessments are fundamental because is the only way which teacher use to grade their students, and facilitate teachers evaluation. By Emmanuel Guzmán
The information given on this unit is very important and I think we learned a lot because the ways to determine the performance or the things they are learning and not, is very interesting. We also understood more on the objectives or even the tests to apply. Factors are fundamental because without them we were not able to get the right results. By Roberto Núñez
I’m very happy with the information that was given to us in this unit, because I had an idea of what informal assessment was, but it was only an idea and know it all makes sense!! Basically we learned the differences between formal and informal assessment, when and how to use it, important tools were also given to us so we can collect data and also have the correct instruments to assess. By Julio Pérez
Now I know the importance of keeping track of the different activities that are being held in the class room. From speaking, reading, writing and listening, to attending classes and being in tune with what the teacher is talking about. This is going to make it easier for the teacher to document the progress of the student and will serve as reference for a future grade. By Carlos Morales

Note: Since the class is a 4 hour weekly class on Saturday, I considered it was more important to give a big part of porcentage to that area(work in class). In this area I mostly grade 10% reading, 10%Writing, 10% listening, 10% speaking.
